A four-day training programme under the AICRP on PHET–SCSP Sub-Plan was successfully conducted from 24 to 27 March 2026 at KCAFT, Tavanur, with the objective of strengthening entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities among Scheduled Caste communities through food processing technologies. The programme was inaugurated on 24 March 2026 by Dr. Jayan P. R, Dean of Faculty (Agrl. Engg.). Participants received practical training and technical exposure in processing and value addition of fruits and vegetables, meat and poultry products, dairy products, cereals and pulses, spices, and oilseeds. Sessions were also conducted on food safety regulations, quality standards, and various Central and State Government schemes supporting startup ventures and food enterprises. As part of the programme, an institutional visit to the KAU Agri Business Incubator, Vellanikkara, was arranged to familiarize participants with entrepreneurial incubation and business support systems.
