The event, focused on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) using Nanopore technology, was held at the Quality Control Lab for Honey at the Regional Agricultural Research Station (SZ). Participants engaged in hands-on learning and gained valuable insights into the latest DNA sequencing techniques, enhancing their research capabilities.
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala – The College of Agriculture, Vellayani, recently hosted two major sports events: "Kurukshetra" Inter-Batch Sports and Faculty Sports Day. Organized by the Lalind Students Union 2023-24 and the Department of Physical Education, these events promoted sportsmanship and community spirit. Kurukshetra featured diverse athletic contests among students, while Faculty Sports Day, held on July 18, 2024, included competitions like races, long jump, and volleyball for faculty members in two age categories.
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala – A team from Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), Vellayani, received a Certificate of Appreciation at the National Group Meet 2024, organized by the All India Coordinated Research Project on Forage Crops & Utilization under ICAR. The team, including R. Gauthami, G. Usha, C. Thomas, and Ameena JM, was recognized for developing technology for organic nutrient management in cowpea-fodder maize under irrigated conditions. The award, presented by V.K. Yadav and T.R.
KAU and its constituent colleges, viz., CoA, Vellayani, CoA, Vellanikkara, CoA, Padannakkad, CoA, Ambalavayal, KCAET, Tavanur, CoF, Vellanikkara and is various UG/PG/PhD programs including MBA ABM, got ICAR accreditation for a period of five years w.e.f. 11.03.2024 to 10.03.2029 with an Overall Score of 3.14/4.00 equivalent to Grade A.

Kerala Agricultural University Celebrates Convocation 2023
On May 29, 2024, Kerala Agricultural University hosted its Convocation 2023 at the Indoor Stadium, College of Agriculture, Vellayani. The event commenced at 10:45 AM with a welcome address by the Vice Chancellor, Dr. B. Ashok, who set the tone for the day by acknowledging the hard work and achievements of the graduates.
