In an impressive display of scientific ingenuity, Ashir K, a student of B. Sc. - M. Sc. (Integrated) Biotechnology from the 2019 batch, and a proud member of the Entrepreneurial Cell (E-Cell) at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani, emerged as the winner of the esteemed BioVantage Challenge. The event, organized by the Goa Institute of Management (GIM), is known for its rigorous competition, exclusively catering to science students.
Ashir's winning project, the Integrated Biosecurity and Drug Discovery System (i-BioDDS), represents a breakthrough in biotechnology. This innovative competition unfolded in a challenging two-round format. In the initial round, participants were tested on a variety of topics, and only the top 30 moved on to the next stage. Ashir stood out in this highly competitive environment, successfully advancing to the Elevator Pitch Showdown.
Ashir presented his i-BioDDS concept, a holistic approach that ingeniously combines biosensors and metagenomic analysis in the pharmaceutical supply chain. This forward-thinking project was meticulously judged by GIM's Healthcare Management faculties. They were particularly impressed with the project's cutting-edge innovation, practical feasibility, and Ashir's exceptional problem-solving skills. His project clinched the top position, earning him widespread recognition in this prestigious academic challenge.
