Dr. K.M. Durga Devi

Dr. ( Mrs.) K.M. Durga Devi acquired her B.Sc. ( Ag.) , M.Sc. ( Soil Science & Agrl. Chemistry ) and Ph.D ( SS& AC) from Kerala Agrl. University , Vellanikkara, Thrissur . She started her career in 1986 as Agricultural officer, State Department of Agriculture, Kerala. She joined Kerala Agricultural University as Assistant Professor ( Soil Science & Agrl. Chemistry) at Operational Research Project , Ozhalapathy, Palakkad in 1987 and worked there till June 1990. She worked at Agronomic Research Station , Chalakudy from 1990 to 1993. In October, 1993, she joined AICRP on Weed Control , College of Agriculture , Vellanikkara, Thrissur as Residue Chemist and conducted research on herbicide residues in soil, plant and aquatic systems,  up to March 2018. She handled two major adhoc projects viz.,( i. ) ICAR adhoc project on “Persistence of herbicides in water bodies and its impact on aquatic system”and ( ii) KSCSTE project on “Persistence of glyphosate and POEA ( surfactant) in soil and water-bioaccumulation of residues in fish” and established a herbicide residue laboratory under AICRP on Weed Control, College of Agriculture with necessary equipments. She joined in the Department of Soil Science & Agrl. Chemistry, College of Agriculture, Vellanikkara  as  Professor ( Soil Science and Agrl.Chemistry ) on 01-04-2018 . She participated in various trainings , workshops, symposia, national and international seminars in the country and abroad.

Currently Dr. Durga Devi is handling UG, PG and Ph.D courses and guiding the thesis programmes of M.Sc. and Ph.D students of the Department of Soil Science & Agrl. Chemistry, College of Agriculture, Vellanikkara.
